A wide range of specialist programs at Bulleen Heights School enhance the individual learning plans of all students.
Information Communication Technology
Our computer room is situated in the ‘hub’ of the school. Students attend weekly sessions developing specific skills and knowledge which can be generalized in classrooms, across curriculum areas and in the community.
Physical Education
Physical education activities are designed to develop motor skills, co-ordination, fitness, strength and agility as well as ball skills, bike riding skills, social behaviours and teamwork. Accessing fitness programs at local gymnasiums, participating in interschool sport programs, Riding for the Disabled (RDA), and swimming lessons enhance skills development.
Art
Our art curriculum aims to engage students in a wide range of two and three dimensional art forms. Students have opportunities to explore their sensory needs, communicate ideas and feelings, explore integrated themes and present their work to the school and wider community.
Music Technology
A wide range of exciting, fun experiences offered in the music room enable students to learn concepts such as rhythm, melody, harmony, style and expression while performing. Technology enables students to compose music and write the vocals, record and mix down their own materials in karaoke, rap, rock or soul.
Woodwork
Students from the secondary departments create a range of models from key tags to small furniture. Our students are encouraged to develop an understanding of basic woodwork tools, the purpose of individual tools and how to use the tools safely. Students also have the opportunity to extend their skills through special projects around the school.
In this specialist program, students learn about tools, safety and materials. Students create a wide variety of models ranging from simple key ring tags to small pieces of furniture.
