The Bulleen Heights Multidisciplinary Team is a fully funded in-house team of speech pathologists, occupational therapists and a psychologist who provide professional services to students and parents as well as class teachers. This is a unique service which radically departs from the common practice of district therapists visiting children in schools at infrequent intervals. This service has become an integral part of the teaching and learning experience at our school with team members working in classrooms alongside teachers, complementing classroom learning with therapy. Teachers are further supported in the development and delivery of individual student learning programs through detailed assessment of each child’s language processing, behaviour, sensory needs, intellectual ability and social and emotional needs.
