In Department 3 at Bulleen Heights School, students will begin their transition from primary school into secondary school.
While many of the programs and activities will be the same or similar as in Departments 1 and 2, students have the opportunity to broaden their experiences in a range of activities and environments across the Victorian Education Learning Standards (VELS).
Students in Department 3 participate in a variety of school based and external programs that aim to further develop the many skills attained during a student’s primary schooling. At the same time, students are encouraged to develop new skills that will increase their independence, improve social skills and allow them to manage their own behaviour. The continued development of an effective communication system is also a major focus for Department 3 students.
In Department 3, students will work towards the development of skills that will prepare them for Department 4, where there is a greater emphasis on preparing for post school options. All programs aim to engage, challenge and excite students within a familiar and safe environment.
