Students in Department 2, equivalent in age to middle/upper primary school students, continue to extend and consolidate the skills begun in the early years of schooling.
Independence, increased communication and problem solving skills are promoted within the context of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) and in accordance with Bulleen Heights School’s Strategic plan, values, vision and mission.
Each student is actively engaged in individual, small and large group activities, tailored to suit their particular needs. Students access the broader community through off campus programs, further promoting self worth, interpersonal and functional living skills. A number of students are dually enrolled at their local primary school and at Bulleen Heights and two Department 2 classes are based at nearby Manningham Park Primary School (MPPS) where they undertake a variety of lessons alongside MPPS students.
